Subject: General Register Office
You will be aware of the tragic events in Southport on Monday. I just wanted to remind you that the General Register Office for England & Wales is based in Southport and so it must be a difficult time for the staff who work there, even if they have no direct connection with the children who were involved in the attack.
Please bear this in mind before contacting the GRO regarding delays or errors, or making complaints.
I know that there are also many LostCousins members who live in the Southport area, or have relatives there. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
Best wishes,
Peter
PS I am appending a copy of the email I circulated last week in case you did not receive it due to my inclusion of images related to the Olympics. If you did not receive that email in your inbox please check your spam folder and remove it in case it affects the delivery of future emails. I will not be experimenting with images again, and apologise for any confusion or inconvenience that I inadvertently caused.

Valerie in Australia appreciates my newsletters – I hope YOU do too. This issue has an Olympic theme, but remember that when it comes to our own family tree we ALL have the potential to become world record holders!

Please note that automated emails are currently not getting through to Gmail addresses so I will send you a manual copy as soon as possible. There is no need to write to me – I usually check the list several times a day.
If this email has been forwarded to a different address, or if you are about to change your address, please log-in and update your My Details page right away so that we don’t lose touch. (This is a standard message included in every newsletter email – so please DON’T contact me if the details shown are up to date, it isn’t necessary.)

This is a closed mailing list – emails are sent ONLY to the more than 70,000 LostCousins members who have asked to receive my UK and worldwide newsletters. If you have received more than one copy of this email it’s almost certainly because you have more than one LostCousins account.
