Holocaust Memorial Day (January 27)<\/o:p><\/span><\/h1>\n

The Holocaust and Genocides<\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n

January 27 marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.. Holocaust Memorial Day is the day for everyone to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, Darfur and eslewhere.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The culmination of Huddersfield Local History Society’s Memories of Our Square project, this fully illustrated book brings together memories that have been shared with us and tales from the archives to tell the story of the Square, in words and pictures, from its creation in the 1850s – it almost didn’t happen – to the present day. From Band of Hope rallies to Festivals of Light, the Square has provided a backdrop for big events. Music, sport, politics, religion and war have all played their part in its history, and all are reflected in the book.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Users can manually adjust the text size for ebooks in the reader and expand the range of sizes to include larger accessibility sizes, if needed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Dark mode: <\/span><\/strong>Libby uses a device’s built-in lighting setting and displays the app in light or dark mode accordingly.
